Responsibilities

The Transition RN Fellowship at Northridge Hospital Medical Center prepares and supports experienced nurses as they enter into a specialty unit. To be eligible, candidates must have at least 2 years of acute care experience. The program is designed to provide a smooth transition for nurses into a new specialty unit, with a focus on supporting their growth and development.

Candidates must submit the following items as part of their application:

  • Current resume
  • Specialty/Unit Preference and shift
  • Letter of Intent, explaining why they are interested in the RN Transition Fellowship Program and the unit or specialty field they are applying for
  • Signed Licensure Vacation and Employment Statement, as applicable

Qualifications
  • Graduate of Accredited RN school of Nursing required
  • Completion of an approved Basic Arrhythmia course prior to the start of the transition program
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in an acute care setting required
  • Registered Nurse with current CA License and current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider card required
  • ACLS PALS (per unit requirements)
  • Successful completion of a formal Dignity Health interview process
  • Current employees: Must be in good standing with no disciplinary actions within the past twelve months and with at least a 'Meets' standards on the last 2 performance evaluations
