Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wine and Spirits Merchandiser to join our team at Restaurant Depot. As a Wine and Spirits Merchandiser, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing the merchandising activities of all wines and spirits within our warehouses. You will work closely with our Regional and Branch Managers to improve merchandising standards and provide exceptional customer service to our business customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute merchandising activities to meet operational goals and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our vendors to ensure a wide selection of wines and spirits.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations to our customers on wine and spirits products.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to measure and evaluate the success of our wine and spirits merchandising efforts.
  • Collaborate with our Logistics team to manage inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, particularly in the areas of safety and inventory management.
Requirements
  • Exemplary customer service skills and ability to interact with business customers.
  • Familiarity with wine, spirits, and beer production terminology, phases of product processing, and varieties.
  • Knowledge of foreign product names and terms to ensure our customers understand the products they are purchasing.
  • Basic math skills, including metric calculations for end-user consumption.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with customers, vendors, and internal associates.
  • Detailed-oriented, organized, and able to follow through with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to lift and move product (50 lbs) when needed and use safety equipment (ladders).
  • Basic PC skills with MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook).
