We are currently seeking a skilled Outdoor Equipment Technician to enhance customer experiences by providing expert advice, recommendations, and daily engagement with our clientele.

In this role, you will be an essential part of our retail shop team. As an Outdoor Equipment Technician, your responsibilities will include assembling and maintaining REI products on a daily basis. Alongside performing shop services, you will deliver outstanding customer service both in the shop and on the sales floor. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring that bikes and snow sports equipment are serviced and repaired to meet industry standards. This position may also involve working within the rental department. Are you ready to join us in our mission?

Evaluate customer requirements and assist in their transactions.

Participate in REI's Sales and Service Training while promoting our products and services.

Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring a clean, secure, and safe working environment.

Deliver quality workmanship that meets or exceeds industry benchmarks.

Report any quality and safety concerns to the shop management.

Adhere to REI's loss prevention and safety protocols.

Be prepared to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs.

Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Bring your genuine passion to the role.

You are knowledgeable about REI tools and equipment. You are a craftsman. You prioritize safety. Customers rely on Outdoor Equipment Technicians to ensure their gear is properly fitted and maintained.

With your expertise in REI products and services, you will stay ahead of trends and share valuable insights with customers.

Your Attributes:
Enjoys fostering communication and building relationships, both internally and externally.

Experience in assembling bike and snow sports equipment (preferred).

Exhibits technical skills and proficiency.

Completes necessary training and certifications.

Sets realistic goals and prioritizes tasks to achieve business objectives.

Organizes resources effectively to meet deadlines and communicates plans and progress.

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
