We are looking for a dedicated professional with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance services on heavy equipment, including excavators, wheel loaders, forklifts, and man-lifts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services on heavy equipment, including powertrain, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct inspections, diagnosis, and repair of heavy equipment, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.
- Complete required paperwork utilizing equipment maintenance software, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times.
- Review and complete repairs identified on Daily Inspection Reports.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
- Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns, responding promptly to ensure minimal downtime.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to corporate and OSHA standards.
- Participate in equipment operator training, focusing on best practices for maintenance and proper use of equipment.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Extensive physical activity, requiring strenuous physical work, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds.
- Work environment may be outdoor or indoor repair equipment in the field, with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Well-lighted and ventilated work areas, with occasional need to work in awkward or tight positions.
- May be required to handle greasy or dirty tools, necessitating adherence to basic safety precautions.
- May work alone, with regular communication with suppliers and outside vendors to obtain parts and coordinate.
- Service vehicle equipped with tool boxes, welder/air compressor, and crane is provided.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Clean driving record.
- Trustworthy and possess a high-degree of integrity.
- Self-directed and comfortable working alone.
- Ability to work occasional weekends.
- Accustomed to changes in priorities and responding professionally to urgent matters.
- 3-5 years' experience working with heavy equipment.
- Must provide own personal tools and tool box.
- Welding/fabrication experience is a plus.
