About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Packaging Supervisor to join our team at Twin City Foods, Inc. (TCF). As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the packaging operations, ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Resource Management: Schedule personnel and material resources for production, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Ensure that all safety rules and procedures are followed, and maintain inventory of packaging materials.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels of poly, box cases, pallets, and slip sheets.
  • Repack Production: Set up and verify shop orders for repack production, and coordinate with corporate sales and QA departments to send samples of packaging materials.
  • Employee Management: Supervise and manage print shop, dry warehouse, and packaging floor lead employees, ensuring that they are trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Corrective Actions: Coordinate corrective actions relating to defective or substandard packaging materials, and investigate safety occurrences or non-conformances.
  • Communication and Reporting: Run start-up meetings with the production team, and conduct daily management meetings with the leadership team to discuss previous day's issues and implement countermeasures.
Requirements
  • Experience: Five years of experience in a production plant environment, with administration and supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel, and Infor software preferred.
  • Knowledge: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Abilities

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a range of arm movements necessary to operate a personal computer and related office equipment, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, occasionally required to stand, stoop, crouch, walk, and balance.
