The Town of Highland Beach, FL is seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team. As a key member of our water treatment team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain the water treatment plant and its equipment, including wells, pumps, and SCADA systems.
- Monitor and control the treatment process, including chemical feed rates and laboratory tests.
- Respond to and resolve customer complaints and issues related to water quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and facilities.
- Collect and analyze water samples to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement plans to improve water treatment processes and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Valid Florida Water Treatment Operator License (C license or higher).
- At least 2 years of experience in water treatment operations.
- Knowledge of water treatment processes, chemistry, and mathematics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
The Water Treatment Plant Operator will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to chemicals, heavy machinery, and varying weather conditions. The ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.
