Water Infrastructure Design Lead

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer with 5-10+ years of experience to lead water infrastructure design projects. The candidate will be involved in a wide range of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects, including treatment, pumping, conveyance, and transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities planning and design projects.
  • Project management, preparation of assessment and design reports, performing design calculations, equipment sizing/selection, preparation of construction documents, and support of construction management/commissioning needs.
  • Field work and site visits from planning through construction and commissioning will be required.

Requirements:

  • Experience in planning, design, and construction for water, wastewater, and/or stormwater facilities.
  • Proficient in all computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience in AutoCAD and ArcGIS preferred.
  • Experience in project management preferred.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Self-starter with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum educational requirements are a B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred).
  • Current PE license and the ability to obtain a P.E. license in Florida within six months of employment (if current PE license is from another state) is required.
