Job Summary

The Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and productivity of the plant's hourly personnel. This position collaborates closely with site Management to support employee-related efforts and is responsible for shift productivity. The Production Supervisor assists with training, compliance matters, discipline, employee engagement, and retention efforts, consistently demonstrating and promoting behaviors aligned with the company's core values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Safety Protocols are Followed: Guarantee that all safety guidelines are adhered to, including personal protective equipment (PPE), plant cleanliness, and clear work areas.
  • Effective Shift Hand-off: Ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities between shifts.
  • Production Schedule Coordination: Work with the Product Lead and extrusion lead to ensure the production schedule is followed.
  • Shift Production Metrics: Responsible for monitoring and achieving shift production metrics, including scrap, pounds, and feet.
  • Quality and Packaging Standards: Ensure that all quality and packaging standards are met.
  • Training and Development: Provide proper training to shift personnel.
  • Lunch Break Management: Effectively manage plant hourly personnel lunch breaks.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete all required paperwork.
  • Employee Performance: Ensure that all personnel are performing their assigned job duties and hold them accountable.
  • Disciplinary Actions: Perform disciplinary actions and coaching as needed.
  • PTO Management: Manage PTO requests to ensure proper team coverage.
  • Time-Off Requests and Timesheets: Complete and process time-off requests and timesheets for payroll in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Supervisory Experience: 4+ years of supervisory experience with demonstrated progressive responsibility.
  • Education: 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Continuous Improvement: Experience with 5s, 6-sigma, and/or continuous improvement is a plus.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Experience working in a manufacturing/Distribution organization is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Professional and personable, with great communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills, with Microsoft office experience as a plus.
  • Leadership Skills: Comfortable rolling up sleeves to learn and coach, with a passion for leading and a detail-oriented approach.
