Job Summary

The Business Office Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the business office, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks, and providing guidance and support to team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate employee job performance, provide counseling and discipline as necessary, and ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform routine Time & Attendance duties, including scheduling, insurance verification, billing, cash posting, and collections.
  • Coordinate and monitor all business office revenue cycle functions to ensure accuracy, even distribution of work, and timely completion of tasks.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and trainer on all aspects of team functions, including medical terminology and insurance payor reimbursement requirements.
  • Train, develop, and motivate Business Office Staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Responsible for daily cash management procedures, including maintaining inventory of forms and office supplies.
  • Point of contact for issue escalation for matters that the team cannot resolve.
  • Reviews all business procedures and recommends adjustments to Business Office Manager.
  • Assists with the communication responsibilities of the Business Office, including reporting status of daily functions as requested.
  • Ensures on a daily basis that patients and their relatives are dealt with in a professional and courteous manner by the Business Office personnel.
Requirements
  • Two years of college or equivalent with emphasis on Business Administration, preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' business management experience, preferred.
  • Computer experience required in windows, spreadsheet, and word processing.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
