About the Role

Total Safety is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Safety Technician. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of our safety equipment and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Inspect Safety Equipment: You will be responsible for cleaning and inspecting our safety equipment, including supplied air equipment, masks, SCBAs, and 5-minute escape packs.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: You will be the primary point of contact for our clients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their safety needs are met.
  • Fill Breathing Air Cylinders: You will be responsible for filling breathing air cylinders and ensuring they are properly maintained.
  • Issue Safety Equipment: You will be responsible for issuing safety equipment to our clients and ensuring they are properly trained on its use.
  • Build Positive Customer Relationships: You will be responsible for building positive relationships with our clients and ensuring their safety needs are met.
  • Restock Inventory and Maintain Accurate Counts: You will be responsible for restocking inventory and maintaining accurate counts of our safety equipment.
  • Abide by Customer Contract Agreements: You will be responsible for adhering to specific customer contract agreements and ensuring our safety equipment meets their requirements.
  • On-Call as Needed: You may be required to work on-call as needed, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
Requirements
  • Current TWIC Card: You must have a current TWIC card to be considered for this role.
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: You must have excellent customer service skills and be able to provide exceptional service to our clients.
  • Basic Knowledge of Tools and Equipment: You must have basic knowledge of tools and equipment and be able to learn how to service our safety equipment.
  • Professional and Neat Appearance: You must have a professional and neat appearance and be able to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Organizational Skills: You must have strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic Computer Knowledge: You must have basic computer knowledge and be able to use our safety equipment management software.
  • Ability to Multi-Task: You must be able to multi-task and shift priorities as needed.
  • Ability to Pass Background and Drug/Alcohol Tests: You must be able to pass background and drug/alcohol tests to be considered for this role.

  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to certain conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and gloves. Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures. Industrial lighting provided. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal but can be greater when using equipment.
