The Senior Information Warfare Specialist plays a crucial role in advancing the Center's expertise in this field by developing and overseeing Information Warfare (IW) training programs, fostering networks, and managing IW resources effectively. This role positions Norwich University as a frontrunner in the discipline, providing specialized knowledge to other educational institutions and partners.

Key Responsibilities

Delivers comprehensive Information Warfare training to faculty and students, enhancing their grasp of doctrinal principles, strategic planning, contemporary trends, and technological advancements. Supervises and mentors assigned interns, guiding them in the creation and presentation of research materials and projects as designated by faculty, ensuring adherence to timelines. Develops and sustains the NU Peace and War Center's Information Warfare digital workspace, serving as a knowledge repository. Conducts ongoing research to enrich the knowledge center with relevant case studies, doctrines, and other essential resources, ensuring a current and accessible library for research initiatives. Provides guidance on the development of the NUARI DISRUPT Platform. Offers support and advice on various directed projects as required. Contributes to the design of Norwich/NUARI's Information Warfare Laboratory Concept. Oversees the management of the NUARI IW laboratory. Advises on the formulation of an academic curriculum focused on Information Warfare, including proposed courses and minors. Assists in the marketing and branding efforts of NU/NUARI as a Center of Excellence in IW/IA. Expands the NU/NUARI network and partnerships within the Department of Defense and U.S. Government IW/IA sectors. Collaborates on the alignment of IW/IA critical development areas with NU/NUARI Cyber program leaders, focusing on emerging technologies such as Quantum, AI, Deepfake, and Cognitive Security Cyber Defense. Designs and maintains a cloud-based range for cyber and social media exercises, capable of simulating desired information environments across multiple geographical regions.

Additional Responsibilities

Evaluates the performance of direct reports, providing constructive feedback to enhance their effectiveness. Ensures the confidentiality of sensitive information. Engages with colleagues, students, and stakeholders in a respectful and clear manner. Participates in university committees, councils, and workgroups as assigned. Maintains proficiency in the use of computers, telecommunication devices, and other job-related equipment. Communicates effectively through various channels. Undertakes additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: A college degree or a minimum of five years of experience in the information operations sector. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook). Capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 30 pounds and navigating various campus environments. Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends as necessary. Willingness to travel as required.

Work Environment:

Primarily indoor work at a computer workstation. Minimal exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations.
