Job Title: Plumbing Design Engineer

Meade Engineering is a leading engineering firm that specializes in providing innovative and cost-effective solutions for data center builders, cloud providers, and developers of large construction projects.

We are seeking a highly skilled Plumbing Design Engineer to join our Mechanical design team. The successful candidate will have a background in plumbing design and will be responsible for designing plumbing systems for various projects, ensuring functionality, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the mechanical engineering team to design plumbing systems for data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile construction projects.
  • Create detailed plumbing plans, layouts, and schematics using CAD software.
  • Select appropriate materials and equipment for plumbing installations, considering factors such as budget, project requirements, and sustainability.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing plumbing systems, identify potential issues, and provide recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate plumbing designs with overall building plans.
  • Perform calculations and simulations to analyze hydraulic systems, pipe sizing, and pressure requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulations related to plumbing design and ensure designs meet all applicable requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of plumbing design experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Familiarity with codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • CPD certification.
  • Experience in green building or energy efficiency projects, such as LEED, ENERGY STAR, or USGBC.
  • PE License.
