Job Summary:

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Parapro Sp Ed to provide support to the instructional program within an assigned classroom. As a key member of the educational team, you will assist in the supervision, care, and instruction of special needs students in the regular education classroom and special education classroom.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in implementing instructional programs and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including behavioral and academic support.
  • Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure student success.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and prior experience working with special needs students is preferred.
