Role Summary:

The Head of Engineering Operations is tasked with overseeing the effective maintenance, service, and repair of all hotel equipment, aligning with the objectives of guest satisfaction, cost efficiency, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the capabilities of the maintenance team with a balanced emphasis on operations, guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and owner interests.
  • Act as the engineering department representative during daily management meetings.
  • Organize, plan, assign, and supervise the engineering team’s activities.
  • Address guest maintenance requests promptly, ensuring that service is delivered professionally, efficiently, and courteously in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Install and maintain all systems related to HVAC, diesel generators, water treatment, fire safety, and more.
  • Maintain accurate records for all hotel plant and equipment, including repair and service documentation.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety in all mechanical and plant equipment areas.
  • Conduct regular inspections of property documents on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Guarantee that the property, grounds, physical plant, and workspaces meet established standards and that all safety protocols are adhered to.
  • Establish and manage inventory levels for department equipment and supplies in line with property needs.
  • Provide training to staff regarding supplies, inventory management, maintenance, and ordering processes.
  • Oversee the maintenance, monitoring, and testing of the hotel’s emergency and security systems, including fire alarms, CCTV, and baggage scanners.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response programs.
  • Initiate and manage energy conservation initiatives to reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure that maintenance personnel adhere to uniform standards and uphold grooming and hygiene expectations.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience or 3 years in a supervisory role within a hotel setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of building management and engineering principles.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
