We are currently seeking a Family Support Coordinator to join our team in a vital role.

Position Overview: The Family Support Coordinator will serve as a crucial resource for families, acting as a bridge to community services. This role involves obtaining a Professional Family Peer Credential and participating in ongoing training for professional development.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Conduct FANS assessments to evaluate family needs.
    • Provide peer support and advocacy for families not enrolled in Medicaid.
    • Encourage family involvement in educational programs, community resources, and wraparound services.
    • Represent AspireHopeNY at county collaborations to promote awareness of family needs and available services.
    • Engage in marketing and outreach initiatives to enhance community connections and referrals.
    • Ensure timely completion of documentation and data entry.
  • Supervision: The Family Support Coordinator will report directly to the Family Services Coordinator.
  • Qualifications:
    • Must be a parent or primary legal guardian of a child with emotional, behavioral, social, or developmental challenges, with experience in navigating various child-serving systems.
    • Possess reliable transportation, a flexible schedule, home internet access, and a designated home office space.
    • Exhibit sensitivity and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds and family dynamics.
    • Commit to applying for a Provisional Family Peer Advocate credential upon hire and completing the Professional Credential after 1000 hours of employment, with ongoing maintenance and re-certification.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with successful completion of all criminal background checks.
    • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
    • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, public speaking abilities, and bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
    • Job Type: Part-time (20 hours per week); evening and occasional weekend availability required.
    • Salary: Starting hourly rate of $15.76, increasing to $16.26 upon obtaining Professional Credential.
    • Mileage reimbursement provided.
    • Paid time off available.
