About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse to join our team at Joint Base San Antonio. The selected candidate will provide independent and collaborative specialty healthcare services, integrating nursing into medical practice. This includes assessing acute, non-acute, and chronic clinical and psychological diagnoses, new patient intake/screening, history, and physical examination. The ideal candidate will also order medications and treatments, provide staff education, and initiate therapeutic plans in accordance with medical practice.

Our organization values teamwork and collaboration, and we are looking for someone who can work effectively with physicians and other team members to evaluate and revise therapeutic plans as needed. The selected candidate will also provide educational management to patients and their families regarding disease processes and diagnostic tests, medication, diet, and follow-up care.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
  3. Conduct thorough physical examinations and take detailed medical histories.
Requirements:
  • US Citizenship required
  • Active, valid, and unrestricted license from one of the 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia, or U.S. territories
  • Current Basic Life Support certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification by the American Heart Association
  • Pass Child Background investigation if assigned to unit caring for pediatric patients
  • Pre-employment physical required
