Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Critical Care Physician Assistant to collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals, including attending physicians, residents, nurses, and respiratory therapists, to deliver exceptional patient care in various intensive care settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate autonomously under the supervision and medical guidance of Critical Care Attending Physicians.
  • Facilitate coordinated patient care through a multidisciplinary team of specialized practitioners.
  • Conduct comprehensive medical histories and physical assessments.
  • Order and analyze laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic evaluations.
  • Interpret data from both invasive and non-invasive monitoring systems.
  • Initiate or adjust medication regimens and therapeutic interventions.
  • Perform urgent and routine medical procedures, contingent upon credentialing.
  • Insert various catheters and perform essential life-saving procedures.
  • Administer conscious sedation and manage external hemorrhage.
  • Execute CPR and advanced cardiac life support measures.
  • Assist in advanced airway management and other critical interventions.

Leadership and Education
Provide educational support and clinical guidance to nursing staff, multidisciplinary teams, patients, and their families. Mentor junior staff, including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, as well as medical students and residents.

Administrative Duties
Collaborate with management on the development of policies and participate in administrative functions within the department.

Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Master's Degree from an accredited nursing program and have completed an accredited Acute Care Physician Assistant program. A minimum of three years of experience in an acute or critical care environment is required, with five years preferred.

Candidates should be prepared to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, to meet the demands of patient care.
