Manager of Strategic Sourcing - Sourcing Operations
Expedia's Global Procurement Group, part of the broader Finance organization, is looking for a Sourcing Manager to join its Sourcing Operations team. In this role, you will cultivate strong relationships with various stakeholders, driving operational excellence and managing the intake of new procurement requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a timely and precise triage process for procurement activities submitted through the Procurement Intake Form at Expedia Group.
- Assist in category management, ensuring stakeholders provide complete and accurate project details (such as specifications, timelines, challenges, etc.).
- Promote continuous improvement in procurement processes.
- Manage administrative tasks and reporting related to project support.
- Lead contract creation and negotiation, including drafting and refining commercial components of purchasing and service agreements, statements of work, and software order forms in collaboration with Legal and other stakeholders.
- Analyze and communicate ongoing opportunities to drive spending towards more strategic solutions across various category teams.
- Conduct analyses, coordinate key partner involvement (Legal, Tax, Information Security, Finance, etc.), and execute necessary administrative processes.
- Facilitate collaborative efforts across multiple products/brands and geographies to develop solutions to challenges.
- Create, communicate, and implement sourcing project work plans and timelines, identifying supporting efforts, dependencies, or barriers. Report on sourcing issues and progress.
- Manage a portfolio of projects that includes both large, critical initiatives and transactional tasks.
- Assist with risk assessments to identify potential issues (financial, operational, and/or regulatory) and develop strategies for risk mitigation. Communicate risks and alternative strategies to business owners and partners.
- Handle administrative processes and activity reporting as necessary to support projects.
- Support additional business-related activities as directed by management.
- Positive, proactive attitude.
- Strong understanding of procurement and strategic sourcing practices, particularly in support of Marketing initiatives.
- Excellent analytical, process-oriented, and collaborative skills to address business challenges.
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in global corporate indirect procurement/strategic sourcing, focusing on transactional tasks with a goal of transitioning to more strategic solutions.
- At least 2 years of experience managing teams in a customer service environment, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to navigate conflicting priorities and high levels of ambiguity.
- Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Proven process orientation with project management experience and successful program implementation.
- Collaborative team player who can work independently while effectively prioritizing tasks and resources.
- Capable of working with abstract concepts and effectively communicating complex topics to others.
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse matrix of partners and businesses.
- Efficiently manage time to complete tasks optimally.
