Role Overview:The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the overall efficiency of the Die Shop. This includes identifying, acquiring, and coordinating resources to fulfill scheduling demands. The Die Shop is tasked with the cleaning, repairing, and inspecting of all dies and associated tooling.
Key Responsibilities: Assess and enhance procedures, work rules, and systems by defining expectations and involving the team in the development and implementation of improvements. Focus areas include productivity, quality, safety, housekeeping, maintenance, technical advancements, training, and attendance. Manage repair schedules through both internal and external resources to meet production requirements. Inspire employees to achieve higher productivity levels and enhance quality. Supervise a union workforce to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production standards. Aim to reduce cycle times. Qualifications: A degree in management, preferably an MBA or a related undergraduate degree. Required experience in manufacturing. A comprehensive understanding of business aspects including purchasing, sales, engineering, and metallurgy. Special Skills and Physical Requirements: Results-oriented and proactive; strong analytical skills are essential.
