The Healthcare Customer Service Representative plays a crucial role in the administration team, ensuring efficient daily operations within the healthcare practice.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage incoming calls and direct them appropriately, taking messages and ensuring timely follow-up with the relevant healthcare professionals.
2. Provide accurate information to callers while adhering to authorized medical advice protocols.
3. Deliver outstanding customer service to both new and existing patients, ensuring a positive experience.
4. Create and maintain patient records, documenting all communications in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
5. Schedule patient appointments and necessary tests as requested, ensuring efficient use of resources.
6. Register patients in the EMR, verifying demographic information and collecting accurate health insurance details.
7. Conduct eligibility checks to confirm insurance coverage and collect required co-pays from patients.
8. Follow established scheduling protocols to coordinate patient visits across various practices.
9. Perform pre-visit planning for upcoming appointments, including insurance eligibility verification.
10. Obtain prior authorizations and referrals as needed to facilitate patient care.
11. Conduct outreach to specific patient groups as directed to enhance care quality and adherence to guidelines.
12. Manage administrative supply needs and assist with ordering as necessary.
13. Collaborate with providers to address missing documentation and create claims in the EMR system.
14. Work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to company policies and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications:
- Exceptional customer service skills are essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Previous experience as a medical secretary is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is strongly desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is advantageous.
