Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Respiratory Therapy department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Document patient care activities and charges accurately in the hospital's electronic medical record system.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance patient care and departmental operations.
  • Develop and maintain competency in the use of arterial blood gas machines, mechanical ventilators, and other respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Adhere to hospital standards of behavior and complete annual competencies.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
  • Licensed in the state of Massachusetts in respiratory care.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers (BLSHP).
  • Maintenance of CEUs in accordance with state licensure regulations.
Work Environment

This role requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment with exposure to various medical equipment and procedures. The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 10 pounds and work in a setting with moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles.
