Job Summary

The Maintenance Utility Employee is responsible for performing various services associated with maintaining hangar, hangar equipment, and company vehicles in a safe and operational working condition.


Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain 5S practices in the hangar and surrounding ramp areas.
  • Conduct weekly/monthly/quarterly hangar facility inspections in accordance with GMM and standard practices.
  • Perform daily/weekly equipment safety and operational tasks to ensure proper operation and prevent hazards.
  • Inspect and maintain hazardous waste sites at both hangar and ramp area to ensure compliance with company, airport, and state regulations.
  • Coordinate on-site repairs with contracted vendors (i.e. boom lift, vehicle lifts, etc.).
  • Coordinate logistics required for equipment repairs where packaging and shipment is required (i.e. aircraft jacks, etc.).
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to aircraft support equipment (includes, but not limited to; tank regulators, service carts, tow bars, adaptors, hoses, sanitization equipment, hangar grounding points, filter changes, etc.).
  • Maintain hangar safety requirements (lead lines, safety signage, etc.).
  • Perform routine inspection of chemical cabinets at hangar and ramp for security and presence of expired chemicals.
  • Active participant of base safety committee.
  • Assist with GSE equipment logistics as necessary to maintain repairs.
  • Work is performed outside or in a hangar, dealing with, but not limited to: dirt, oil, fuel, cleaning fluids.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • At least six month experience in a related position and environment preferred.
  • Ability to lift and/or move 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Some mechanical experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, or holidays.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate clearly in speech and writing.
  • Must be able to use and follow standard work order procedures.
  • Must be able to use ladders, work stands, lifts, hand/power tools, etc. and be able to work on all areas of equipment that may require access during performance of duties.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office and general Internet application.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, or move components weighing up to 70 lb.
