Job Overview

The Mechanical Design Engineer supports plant leaders and production personnel in developing and implementing manufacturing processes that result in high-quality products consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) process at all levels, conceptualizing designs for new products and improvements to existing ones.
  • Create and validate new designs using modeling, drafting, and BOM creation, applying engineering principles to develop product definitions and requirements.
  • Develop recommendations for improvements to manufacturing methods and implement them effectively.
Maintaining Quality

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards are met throughout the design process. This includes:

  • Direct programming of CNC equipment to ensure precision and accuracy.
  • Machine tool justification, selection, commissioning, and operationalization.
  • Providing technical support to operations, purchasing, and estimating teams.
Technical Expertise

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • An Associate Degree in Engineering, preferably with 5+ years' experience in sheet metal engineering and disciplines.
  • Excellent SolidWorks or equivalent modeling skills.
  • Above-average knowledge of manufacturing principles and equipment, including CNC.

Benefits and Compensation

This role comes with an estimated salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
