OVERVIEW
The Behavior Technician-ABA (BT-ABA) at Vista Autism Services collaborates closely with supervisors, educators, and clinical leaders to execute individualized client plans within educational and community environments, nurturing positive relationships with all involved parties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement assigned client plans and programs with precision across various settings, utilizing appropriate safety equipment when necessary.
- Complete documentation accurately for services provided in educational settings.
- Generate comprehensive session notes while maintaining ethical interactions with families and collaborators.
- Assist clients with daily living activities and recreational swimming.
- Gather and record data regarding client behavior and developmental progress.
- Provide guidance to team members and accept constructive feedback graciously.
- Engage professionally and positively with all stakeholders.
- Efficiently fulfill assigned responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position entails various physical activities including sitting, walking, running, standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, stooping, kneeling, and crawling. Employees may be required to assist clients during interventions and wear protective equipment.
SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS
This full-time, year-round position adheres to the program calendar, with working hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. During designated breaks, 8 hours are allocated for professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with children.
- Completion of Safe and Positive Approaches Training.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in Human Services or educational environments.
- Experience working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum.
- Understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis methodologies for individuals with Autism.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
