The successful candidate will collaborate with component design, system, and optical architecture engineering teams, engaging in testing, design validation, and process evaluation for both current and next-generation versatile pluggable modules in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of high-speed coherent and direct-detect optical module and sub-assembly testing and RF test set creation.
- Design comprehensive test plans and algorithms, executing module performance validation tests.
- Collaborate closely with ASIC, Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC), and module design teams, as well as the system engineering group, to ensure the quality release of new products.
We are looking for candidates with a robust background in either optical or electronic high-speed characterization:

- Fundamental understanding of active semiconductor optoelectronic device characteristics (e.g., semiconductor lasers/amplifiers, photo diodes, modulators).
- Programming experience in Matlab, C, C++, Python, or similar for automation of instrument control and data acquisition.
- Experience in signal analysis and processing is advantageous.
- Ability to construct, maintain, and troubleshoot complex test hardware and software in a collaborative environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing thorough documentation.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional development teams.
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant graduate-level and/or industrial experience in optical communications, photonics, high-speed electronics, or systems.
