Position Overview:
Vista Credit Partners (VCP), the credit investment arm of Vista Equity Partners, is on the lookout for a finance expert to support the daily management and supervision of accounting and financial reporting obligations associated with VCP's Private Funds. This position is integral to the VCP Finance team, directly reporting to the Finance Director.
To thrive in Vista's dynamic and fast-paced setting, the ideal candidate will possess a profound knowledge of fund accounting, investment operations, and financial systems. This role presents a unique opportunity to gain insights into all aspects of the credit business and advance within the firm, especially given the growth trajectory of the credit product line. Furthermore, the position will offer exposure to various sectors of a burgeoning private equity firm through regular collaboration with investment professionals, compliance, and investor relations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the ongoing enhancement of processes and protocols related to accounting, financial reporting, and operational analysis for credit funds, focusing on improving effectiveness, efficiency, and precision.
- Oversee the establishment of monitoring controls over accounting and operational deliverables, including the evaluation of all monthly, quarterly, and annual fund accounting packages, as well as annual GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures across diverse fund structures.
- Manage relationships and workflows with external partners such as auditors, fund administrators, and custodian banks.
- Ensure accurate calculation and tracking of limited partner capital balance reporting, encompassing management fees, performance fees, capital contributions, and distributions.
- Supervise the quarterly expense process and review partnership expenses in accordance with governing documents.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of funding sources to assess liquidity requirements for pipeline and deal flow.
- Lead new fund and product launches, including a comprehensive understanding of fund structures and jurisdictions, while coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Responsible for the initial setup and ongoing monitoring of the portfolio of investment asset attributes, collaborating with the operations team and counterparties to confirm asset transactions and updates to portfolio data.
- Coordinate with the investor relations team to fulfill requests from existing and prospective investors, including ad-hoc reporting in line with side letter requirements, detailed performance calculations, and operational due diligence walkthroughs.
- Review and finalize various regulatory submissions, including Form PF and Form ADV.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
- Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is advantageous.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience, including public accounting, fund accounting, and investment operations within the fixed income or alternative asset management sectors, with a preference for credit, venture debt, or private equity experience.
- Strong finance, accounting, and investment operations expertise, including proficiency in technology systems and the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Familiarity with data aggregation and presentation tools such as Snowflake and PowerBI is a plus.
- Experience collaborating with Fund Administrators and Bank Loan Administrators is preferred.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Robust problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate across various business functions.
Compensation:
The expected annual base pay range for this role is between $200,000 and $250,000. Actual base pay may vary based on factors such as experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is one component of the total compensation package, which may also include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
