We are currently seeking a Control Systems Specialist.

This role requires a proactive and self-motivated individual who can work efficiently both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, without the need for direct oversight.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong commitment to safety and be adept at cultivating positive working relationships grounded in trust and respect across all organizational levels.

This position involves managing control projects and will encompass all stages of automation and control project execution, along with providing support for plant automation.

Additionally, the role will emphasize enhancing existing automation systems and developing new automation technologies and control integration improvements.

Responsibilities include metrology and instrumentation design and calibration, as well as leading, training, and mentoring staff in the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and legibly, with all necessary information
Participate in and complete all required training
Implement predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment uptime
Educate maintenance personnel and machine operators on maintenance practices during troubleshooting or repair tasks
Oversee the execution of preventative maintenance and reliability initiatives, and collaborate with Automation Engineers on complex repairs and defect resolution
Design and upgrade control systems
Calibrate both new and existing instruments, control valves, and controllers
Monitor and troubleshoot control loops, instruments, and entire control systems
Maintain daily logs for maintenance and plant calibration
Be available for emergency response
Read, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programming
Install and program VFDs, tuning settings for optimal performance
Lead root cause analysis to ensure the sustainability of corrective measures and recommend improvements to Automation Engineers for enhancing asset reliability
Effectively complete scheduled PMs to minimize unplanned downtime
Utilize CMMS diligently to track maintenance activities
Classify breakdowns and analyze gaps in design, fabrication, and maintenance processes
Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and rectifying opportunities, enhancing processes, and participating in the development of Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions
Adhere to QMS, Good Manufacturing Practices, and 5S principles to maintain a clean, safe, and audit-ready work environment
Comply with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures
All other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications:
Completion of an Industrial Maintenance, Automation, Robotics, or equivalent training program

Education:
(Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred) and/or 10+ years of experience in automation and controls
Skills and Competencies:
Proficient in Allen Bradley and Rockwell software/hardware, structured test programming, and familiar with VFDs
Proficient in MS Office and basic computer skills
Understanding of network systems
Familiarity with food industry standards; AIB, PMO, and FDA regulations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong decision-making abilities and effective in a team setting
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts
Able to work overtime as needed
