The role of Tire Service Technician is vital to our operations. This position involves the essential tasks of dismounting, mounting, balancing, and repairing tires for Commercial Vehicles and Medium Trucks. The technician will manage all facets of tire service and repair for off-the-road machinery, including construction and agricultural equipment, as well as other responsibilities as directed by management.
Key Responsibilities:- Mount, dismount, and install tires and tire/wheel assemblies.
- Load and unload tires from vehicles.
- Conduct tire repairs as necessary.
- Follow established protocols for tire and wheel inspections pre- and post-service.
- Assess tire conditions for repairability and execute repairs accordingly.
- Review work orders and communicate effectively with supervisors.
- Accurately document work performed in compliance with company policies.
- Utilize heavy-duty tire service equipment and tools, including cranes and hydraulic systems.
- Remove and replace wheels using appropriate tools.
- Handle emergency road service calls as required.
- Maintain assigned service vehicle and ensure proper upkeep of tools and equipment.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and safety standards relevant to the position.
Required:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid Driver's License.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience as a tire service technician.
- CDL License is advantageous.
- TIA certification is a plus.
- Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday and evening shifts as needed.
- This role involves working in various indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to different weather conditions.
- Regularly required to stand, bend, climb, lift, and walk.
- Must handle hazardous materials and wear appropriate protective gear.
- Frequent lifting of heavy items, with occasional requirements to lift up to 150 lbs.
