Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Patient Services Representative to join our team at OU Health. As a key member of our OB/GYN Clinic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility.

Responsibilities

Scheduling
• Coordinate patient schedules for in and out-patient clinics
• Provide information about clinic operations
• Obtain patient demographics and update established patient information
• Answer telephone calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel
• Prepare and enter healthcare providers' schedules into the computer

Check In/Check Out
• Greet patients, accept payments, and issue receipts
• Total encounter forms and verify completeness and accuracy
• Code procedures and diagnoses
• Ensure resident and faculty signatures on encounter forms and charts
• Prepare encounter forms and billing packets for patients to be seen
• May prepare and type daily deposits
• Balance and close cash box daily

Filing and Organization
• Pull patient charts for appointments or to file lab, x-ray, hospital information
• Copy medical records for patients and other providers or facilities
• File patient charts
• Prepare inactive patient charts for storage and maintain storage log

Referrals and Authorizations
• Verify insurance eligibility and primary care physicians for patients
• Secure referrals to other providers for HMO patients
• Collect and verify proof of income for sliding scale discount

Miscellaneous
• Dispense supplies as needed
• Notify personnel when supplies are low and need to be reordered
• Type notes and letters for physicians as needed
• Log mail receipts according to University policy
• Sort and distribute mail

Requirements
• 1.5 years of customer service experience, including at least 6 months in a clinical environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
