Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Quality and Safety Officer to join our team at VCU Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our quality and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality and safety strategies that align with our organizational goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of quality and safety professionals to ensure effective implementation of quality and safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and clinical staff to identify and address quality and safety concerns.
  • Develop and maintain quality and safety metrics and reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for quality and safety.
  • Develop and implement training programs to educate staff on quality and safety best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans to address quality and safety concerns.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of quality and safety initiatives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g. healthcare administration, quality management).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in quality and safety leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of improving quality and safety outcomes in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, clinical staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for quality and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board certification in quality management or a related field.
  • Experience with quality and safety software and systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with data analytics and reporting.
