Position: Security Officer/ Guest Services

Role Summary:

The Security Officer is entrusted with overseeing the daily operations and ensuring the safety of the parking facility. This role involves monitoring automated systems and enforcing established policies and procedures as directed by management. The position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Riverside Parking.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Adhere to scheduled shifts while wearing the designated uniform and nametag.
  2. Manage and direct various incoming and internal communications in accordance with established protocols; liaise with staff and patrons effectively.
  3. Oversee the distribution and documentation of portable radios, keys, and first aid supplies.
  4. Responsible for the daily opening and closing of the facility, ensuring all lighting and access points are secure.
  5. Monitor closed-circuit television systems, documenting and reporting any anomalies in normal operations.
  6. Follow established emergency procedures for situations such as fire, medical emergencies, or security threats, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  7. Maintain written logs and reports regarding lost items, property damage, theft, and incidents involving patrons or staff.
  8. Flexibility in scheduling is required to accommodate off-shift availability.
  9. Work both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions and emergency situations.
  10. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Experience in public interaction under various conditions, including emergencies.
  4. Prior security experience is essential; a valid NYS Security License is required.
  5. Ability to work independently and effectively.
