Project Kuiper Counsel Opportunity

We are seeking a talented lawyer to join the Amazon Legal team supporting Project Kuiper, an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites providing low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Kuiper commercial business development team as counsel on global strategic partnership and enterprise customer deals, focusing on deals with mobility partners and customers.
  • Structure, draft, and negotiate a range of agreements, including agreements to sell Kuiper services and customer terminals.
  • Counsel the business team on legal issues related to Kuiper's commercial business operations.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of legal experience.
  • Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing services or equivalent.
  • 2+ years experience drafting and negotiating technology transactions or other complex transactions.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
