Position Overview: Tact Staff is seeking a skilled travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to patients in critical situations.

Reporting Structure: This position reports directly to the Charge Nurse. The travel nurse will manage a diverse range of medical conditions and must demonstrate the ability to multitask effectively to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current and valid nursing license in the state of California.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 1 year experience in an Emergency Department.
  • Certifications: ACLS, PALS, and CPR; NRP and TNCC required within one year of hire.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize care based on immediate needs.
  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Administer treatments as prescribed by physicians in a timely manner.
  • Perform clinical tasks accurately, including EKGs, blood draws, and IV placements.
  • Provide patient and family education tailored to individual needs.
  • Document patient care and progress towards health goals accurately.
  • Initiate emergency procedures as per established protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient dignity and rights.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control standards in all patient interactions.
Professional Expectations:
  • Exhibit professional behavior and appearance at all times.
  • Complete required training and education annually.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and meetings as necessary.

Working Conditions: Flexibility to work beyond standard hours and adapt to various roles as needed. The nurse must be able to work independently and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

Physical Requirements: The role involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting during shifts. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
