Job Summary

Michaels is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Retail Customer Service Team Member. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their shopping needs, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist customers with their shopping needs, including finding products, processing transactions, and handling returns and exchanges.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment by restocking shelves, facing merchandise, and performing other tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in visual merchandising and store displays to create an engaging and attractive shopping experience.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales goals and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and loss prevention.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.

Working Conditions

  • Work in a fast-paced retail environment with frequent customer interactions.
  • Stand for long periods of time and move around the store as needed.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and bend, stoop, or reach to perform tasks.
  • Work in a climate-controlled environment with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
