  • Efficiently manages incoming calls, directing inquiries and taking precise messages.
  • Updates and maintains patient care team details within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Handles self-pay transactions, collects payments, and reconciles daily financial activities.
  • Processes insurance verifications, scans insurance documentation, and updates patient records accordingly.
  • Accurately schedules and confirms patient appointments.
  • Coordinates orders for diagnostic tests and medical procedures.
  • Initiates authorization requests and collaborates effectively with clinical personnel.
  • Completes referral processes and assists patients in enrolling in the patient portal.
  • Conducts screenings and organizes specific patient services as needed.
  • Manages departmental communications and prepares correspondence as assigned.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Performs administrative tasks including faxing, photocopying, scanning, and filing documents.
  • Exhibits adaptability in work schedules and provides coverage for colleagues when necessary.
  • Adheres to downtime protocols and undertakes additional responsibilities as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to push, pull, and lift heavy items, along with physical mobility and dexterity.
  • Maintains balance while climbing, bending, and reaching, demonstrating endurance.
  • May encounter various environmental risks, allergens, and blood-borne pathogens.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; an Associate Degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a patient service role is advantageous, with proficiency in English.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities and strong organizational skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with medical office terminology and basic computer skills are required.

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to satellite locations as necessary.
