Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality diagnostic procedures accurately and in a timely manner for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth Outpatient Center.
  • Under minimal supervision, perform basic to complex Operating Room diagnostic and interventional radiographic procedures, as requested by a licensed physician.
  • Provide technical support for interventional radiographic examinations.
  • Complete established competencies for the position.
  • Operate imaging equipment, C-Arms, O-Arms, prepare examination rooms, and maintain equipment, supplies, and medications.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic radiographs throughout the patient care areas to include but not limited to: OR, Urography, open reductions, myelography, arthrography, and placements.
  • Assist practitioner with fluoroscopy, arthrography, and OR procedures.
  • Practice proper radiation safety techniques on all exams performed.
  • Perform all Quality control checks, as prescribed.
  • Maintain accurate QC logs, service records, etc.
  • Practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
  • Investigate promptly and follow up on unusual incidents and communicate with Manager/Director.
  • Take department call as assigned.

Required Skills:

Education:

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Graduate of AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology

· Graduate of a 2-year accredited school of Radiology Technology

Licensure/Certification:

· Current & Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) Certificate

· Current & Active Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) General License

· Current BLS certification

Required Experience:

Required Experience:

· Minimum of 2 years' experience specific to surgical/diagnostic radiological exams

· Experience using C-Arms in an Operating room

· Must possess independent decision-making skills

· Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects

· Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients and families

· Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way

· Ability to utilize the Electronic Health Record for patient documentation
