Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional, ensuring the highest level of care and comfort for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic patient care, including vital sign measurement, personal care, and hygiene, as well as assist with mobility and unit-based specialty duties.
  • Act as a liaison between patients and nurses, reporting changes and concerns in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and employees, ensuring a positive and compassionate experience.
  • Document patient care accurately and precisely, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participate in hand-off/report of pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs upon arrival and when leaving.
  • Perform delegated tasks once competency has been validated, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination, with completion of Fundamentals of Nursing course or a Nursing Assistant Program.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent.
  • One year of relevant experience in a clinical setting, preferably in an acute care setting or nursing home.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, providing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of patient care tasks and techniques, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
