Position Summary:


As a Senior QA Lead, you will engage in every phase of the software development lifecycle, encompassing estimation, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support for applications developed for our clientele.

In your role as a vital member of a global team, you will collaborate closely with solution architects and various stakeholders from both the client and Perficient teams.

Your responsibilities will include assisting the Project Technical Lead in translating wireframes and creative designs into functional requirements, and subsequently into technical specifications.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the technical planning, requirements gathering, and testing phases for project delivery.
  • Define QA architecture, structure, and tool frameworks while driving the overall process.
  • Address all requirements, feedback, scoping, and design issues directly with clients.
  • Comprehend the unique business and technical needs of each engagement and facilitate discussions on optimal solution designs.
  • Ensure that implementation and sign-off adhere to best practices and client standards.
  • Estimate project testing efforts, including unit testing, integration, UAT, and production sign-off efforts.
  • Participate in the development of technical documentation and user story creation.
  • Conduct unit testing of code components as per user stories.
  • Perform code audits and reviews as necessary.
  • Serve as a QA lead and mentor for team members.


Additionally, you will:

  • Provide technical support and leadership in testing and continuous service improvement.
  • Demonstrate adaptability while working with team members of varying experience levels.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with both team members and clients.
  • Contribute to the creation of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and backlog for each sprint, assisting the Project Manager in project planning.
  • Independently manage assigned tasks and lead an offshore development and QA team.
  • Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, daily stand-ups, and report any technical blockers to the team.


Key qualifications include:

  • Strong expertise in API testing; knowledge of UI testing is advantageous.
  • A passion for coding with over 10 years of application testing experience.
  • Experience in event-driven testing.
  • A minimum of 6 years of testing experience with various API testing tools.
  • Proficiency with Jenkins, Microservices, and Kafka is essential.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD automation tools; experience with Selenium is preferred.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
  • Knowledge of API lifecycle management.
  • Experience in leading, managing, and mentoring globally distributed teams.
  • Full life-cycle development experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Client-facing and/or consulting experience is required.
  • Exceptional communication skills to convey concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including high-level decision-makers.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with a proven ability to devise innovative solutions.
  • A flexible and adaptable mindset, capable of managing multiple responsibilities and adjusting to diverse environments.
  • A solid foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • A background in Financial Services is considered a plus.


The salary range for this position is influenced by various factors, including skill sets, experience levels, applicable office locations, training, licensure, certifications, and other business needs.
