Chief Medical Officer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Medical Officer to lead our Health Services Division. As a key member of our executive leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to our clinical programs, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide executive leadership and management of the Health Services Division, including quality improvement and population health, pharmacy, utilization management, and complex case management.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, and enhance the overall quality of care.
  • Collaborate with department directors to ensure effective communication, coordination, and execution of divisional goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Lead and manage a team of medical directors, department directors, and other staff to achieve divisional goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree.
  • Current license to practice medicine in the State of California.
  • Board certification in a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in a medical programs administration role in an organized health system.
  • Proven track record of leadership and management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
