About the Role:

Dignity Health Medical Foundation, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the clinical team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patient charts and ensure all information is up-to-date.
  • Assist with procedures, administer medications, and perform vital sign measurements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, and perform patient care services under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.
  • Communicate and document patient concerns to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Work with physicians, insurance providers, and pharmacies to obtain authorizations for patient medication.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program or military training equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Medical terminology, familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding procedures, and pharmacology knowledge.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six months of experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant.
  • Certification through a private agency approved by the Medical Board of California.
  • Familiarity with an electronic practice management system.
