Job Title: Mechanical Engineer for Semiconductor Equipment Design

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Mattson Technology. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for semiconductor equipment. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems for semiconductor equipment, including wafer transfer methods, mechanism design, and wafer temperature management.
  • Conduct and participate in design reviews to contribute and generate discussion on various aspects of the design.
  • Specify, supervise, and perform engineering analysis of complex scope, including robotics, friction, particle control, vacuum, and end effectors.
  • Develop custom mechanical tooling, fixturing, and associated processes to enable the handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Manage communications and expectations with internal and external customers and vendors to ensure project objectives are accomplished.
  • Work intensely with SAP, Pro-E (Creo), Sharepoint, and other software applications to properly manage and document projects.
  • Solve engineering problems using analytical techniques and engineering knowledge, such as thermodynamics, heat transfer, measurement control, stress analysis, Finite Element Analysis, or system integration.

Requirements:
  • Strong skills in mechanism design, change management, problem-solving, communication, customer orientation, product technology, global business perspective, personal effectiveness, project management, team skills, and quality.
  • Knowledge of systems and software necessary to perform job function, including ProEngineer WildFire, SAP, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, and AutoCad.
  • Ability to work under pressure to design cost-effective solutions with serviceability and manufacturability.
  • Ability to influence other people, act as a mentor, lead, and/or supervise projects.
  • General knowledge of electrical and software engineering disciplines.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering and 4 or more years directly related experience, or equivalent.
