Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction for the planning department, ensuring that all plans and projects are aligned with the county's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans that address the county's growth and development needs, including land use, transportation, and community development.
  • Collaborate with local governments, stakeholders, and community groups to identify and address planning issues and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to planning and development.
  • Manage and supervise a team of planning professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of planning projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in urban planning, public administration, or a related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in planning and/or development, with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • AICP certification and a valid Ohio driver's license are required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of land-use planning, zoning, and development regulations, as well as community and economic development principles.
