About the Role

We are seeking a professional Medical Assistant to join our busy Orthopedic practice in Metairie. As a full-time team member, you will be the first point of contact and play a crucial role in creating a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Interview patients, take vital signs, and record information in their medical records.
  • Review medications, note allergies, and verify current medication use.
  • Assist with patient education, providing informational materials and after-care instructions.
  • Gather necessary documents and signatures to support treatment decisions.
  • Receive and record lab/radiological test results, ensuring timely access to patient records.
  • Communicate Clinician instructions/orders to pharmacy, patients, and other entities.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for each day's patients.
  • Manage patient flow, including pre-visit preparation, patient visits, and post-visit duties.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with some college preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Spanish speaking skills and knowledge of E-Clinical Works are highly desirable.
  • MA certification and FA/CPR training are preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health, vision, and dental insurance, continued education programs, paid time off, and retirement plans.
