Job Title: Environmental Services Floor Care Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Services Floor Care Technician to join our team at MU Health Care.

In this role, you will perform environmental services floor care work in a healthcare setting with a high priority placed on customer service. You will interact with patients, staff, and the public on a daily basis, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and safety in your assignments.

The estimated salary for this position is between $14.00 - $19.71 per hour, based on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform floor care and project routines in a healthcare environment setting to include hard surface floor maintenance and refinishing, carpet care procedures such as vacuuming, spot cleaning, shampooing, and extraction.
  • Clean various types of carpet and upholstery including vacuuming, spot cleaning, shampooing, and extraction.
  • Follow established procedures for the cleaning and disinfection of areas assigned and handle soiled linen, regular waste, and medical waste following all precautions required for personal safety and the safety of others.
Requirements

No prior experience is required for this position. However, one year of experience in environmental services or significant work experience in handling various floor maintenance processes is preferred.

You must be willing to learn and able to lift up to 50 lbs. Due to the 50 lbs weight designation, this position may require a fitness for duty examination.

Working Conditions

This is a healthcare environment that requires standing on stepladders and/or ladders and following all safety requirements at all times. You must be able to work in areas where strict confidentiality and privacy are required under HIPAA guidelines.
