Job Description: Senior Commissioning Engineer - Performance Optimization Expert

This role plays a critical part in ensuring successful execution of commissioning, re/retro-commissioning (RCx), and energy audit projects. Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, this individual will provide technical expertise, oversight, and management to ensure that building performance meets design specifications.

The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of experience in building operations, HVAC, or construction fields, with expertise in commissioning, TAB procedures, and Building Automation Controls (BAC). They will also possess strong communication and influencing skills, attention to detail, and experience with MS Office tools.

The Senior Commissioning Engineer - Performance Optimization Expert will be responsible for:

  • Conducting building performance evaluations and audits, including commissioning, re-commissioning, and retro-commissioning activities.
  • Executing Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) functional tests, including point verification and sequence tests.
  • Creating and executing systems tests such as electrical, lighting, life safety, fire protection, or plumbing systems.
  • Directing commissioning meetings, recording action items, and distributing them to stakeholders.
  • Performing construction inspections to ensure MEP installations conform to project documents.

The successful candidate will have a pragmatic approach, enjoy fieldwork, and effectively interact with customers and contractors. They will also have operational knowledge of BAC, be self-directed, and thrive in an environment where consultation and collaboration lead to superior outcomes.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced individual who can manage financial aspects of assigned projects, including managing budgets, invoicing, and forecasting. The ideal candidate will also contribute to business development efforts, including communicating and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $150,000 per year

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of direct experience in HVAC, building operations, or construction fields.
  • Experience using AutoCAD.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for work-related travel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
