Role Summary: The individual in this role will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations and achieving sales targets while ensuring exceptional service to customers and donors. This position includes managing the processing of donations and collaborating with management to ensure effective staff training and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management Responsibilities:
- Oversee the timely and accurate processing of donated items, fostering teamwork among management to meet store objectives.
- Coach and develop the management team while ensuring proper training for all store personnel.
- Address employee concerns and provide constructive feedback, conducting performance evaluations as necessary.
- Manage disciplinary actions in collaboration with the Area Manager and Human Resources.
- Operational Oversight:
- Maintain overall store operations, including daily sales and donation reporting.
- Contribute to profitability by identifying sales opportunities and managing inventory and labor costs.
- Ensure accurate cash handling and financial reporting for the store.
- Organize store workflow to enhance customer service and operational efficiency.
- Maintain store appearance and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Customer and Donor Relations:
- Uphold high standards of customer service, reinforcing Goodwill's mission.
- Complete various administrative tasks, including store opening and closing procedures.
Back-End Responsibilities:
- Ensure a clean and organized production area, facilitating the loading and unloading of merchandise.
- Train staff on processing and sorting donated goods.
- Receive donations and provide itemized receipts as needed.
- Sort and assess merchandise for sales floor appropriateness.
Front-End Responsibilities:
- Train employees on register operations and store layout.
- Process customer transactions efficiently and assist with shopping needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization on the sales floor.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of retail management experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to handle employee relations.
- Proficiency in basic financial management and computer skills.
