SUMMARY:
This position plays a crucial role in supporting the operational efficiency of the nutrition program within the educational environment. The coordinator will be responsible for various administrative tasks that ensure smooth food service operations and effective communication with stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Communicate effectively with management regarding any challenges or concerns related to staff and assist in problem resolution.
- Manage incoming calls, addressing inquiries and minor issues related to food service operations and parent concerns.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and facilitate weekly payroll processing using the designated payroll system.
- Oversee data entry for lunch accounts in the Culinary Suite program.
- Process all work orders and equipment requests to meet district requirements.
- Keep comprehensive records for the school lunch program, including daily meal counts and revenue, ensuring accurate entry into the revenue system.
- Possess knowledge of POS systems across all schools and generate necessary reports and training documents.
- Stay informed about the Mosaic POS system, maintaining regular communication with relevant personnel.
- Complete all required training as mandated by the organization and state regulations.
- Assist in the weekly and monthly closing processes, adhering to standard checklists.
- Support the General Manager with monthly inventory data entry for food, paper, cleaning supplies, and USDA commodities.
- Develop, understand, and distribute menus for all schools.
- Place orders for food and supplies according to the established ordering calendar.
- Manage the production of marketing materials, including daily signage and monthly promotions for each school.
- Understand and implement all company policies effectively.
- Facilitate training and cross-training for team members as necessary, collaborating with management to conduct in-service training on sanitation, safety, and customer service.
- Assist in conducting safety audits and quality assurance evaluations across all schools.
- Complete assigned tasks related to the sales force as directed by the General Manager.
- Utilize the Culinary Suite Menu Program to print and distribute production order records weekly and enter finished production records daily.
- Help organize staff meetings, focusing on safety scenarios and team coordination.
- Assist in daily management of team members, including coordination of substitute workers.
- Participate in all mandatory training programs.
- Contribute positively as a member of the food service team, fostering a supportive work environment.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with district staff and administrative personnel.
- Exhibit basic culinary skills as needed.
- Uphold confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
- Provide support throughout the district, including substituting at schools when necessary.
- Align with the goals and mission of the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
Education:
High School Diploma or Associate Degree
Computer Skills:
Basic bookkeeping skills and proficiency in standard computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing, and document sharing tools).
Other Qualifications:
- Strong business acumen.
- Excellent telephone communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
