We are seeking a dedicated Fire Protection Engineer.

SGH is looking to enhance its Fire Protection Engineering practice by bringing on board a passionate Fire Protection Engineer in our Los Angeles office. This role involves collaborating with licensed fire protection engineering principals nationwide to deliver technical expertise and engage in design, rehabilitation, and investigation of fire engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver fire protection engineering consulting services.
  • Support the growth and development of the fire protection engineering team at SGH.
  • Oversee the fire protection engineering staff.
  • Propose strategies to maintain SGH's leadership in relevant technologies.
  • Manage project execution, including budgets, staffing, and client relationships.
  • Assist in forensic and litigation activities.
  • Engage with building and fire officials.
  • Promote fire engineering services and cultivate business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other practice areas within SGH for mutual benefit.
  • Participate in local and national professional organizations.
  • Contribute to professional publications.
Qualifications:
  • BS or MS in Fire Protection Engineering is required.
  • 0-5 years of experience in fire protection engineering.
  • Professional Registration in fire protection engineering is necessary.
  • Experience in smoke control testing is preferred.
  • Proven project management experience across various project types, including building and fire code consulting, fire investigation, performance-based design, and fire, smoke, and egress modeling.
  • Familiarity with fire and smoke modeling software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Commitment to excellence and professionalism.
  • Adherence to SGH's standards for work product delivery.
  • A valid driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report are required.
