Parish Financial Consultant

As a key member of the Diocese of Green Bay team, the Parish Financial Consultant will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of parishes and other diocesan entities. This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct financial, operational, and compliance reviews of parishes and other diocesan entities to assess compliance with Diocesan standards.
• Analyze current and historical financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with parish business administrators, bookkeepers, finance councils, and parish Treasurer Trustees to implement Diocese standard accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit or religious organization setting.
• Strong analytical and reasoning skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and make decisions with follow-through.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to parishes and other diocesan entities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
• Audit experience, preferably in a non-profit or religious organization setting.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for non-profits.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks and other accounting software.
