Job Description

The Area Representative plays a vital role in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) ministry, working closely with the Director and Advisory Team to fulfill the FCA Vision and pursue the FCA Mission. This position is responsible for implementing the ministry plan for the assigned area, ensuring a consistent approach to discipleship and ministry excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ministerial Duties
    • Agree with and abide by FCA's Christian Community Statement.
    • Follow a spiritual rhythm, including daily prayer and Bible study, to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
    • Lead, conduct, and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship, and living by example.
    • Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
    • Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs.
  • Ministry Advancement
    • Engage, equip, and empower coaches and athletes through 1-on-1s, Huddles, and Events.
    • Train and equip staff and volunteers to empower coaches and athletes to be disciples who make disciples in the Sports Environments.
  • Talent Advancement
    • Oversee recruiting, training, and developing effective and diverse volunteers who lead coaches and athletes into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
  • Board Advancement
    • Invite, involve, and invest in an Advisory Team committed to pray, serve, and give.
  • Donor Advancement
    • Connect, communicate, and care for existing and prospective financial partners to get fully funded.
    • Manage and steward the finances for the assigned area of responsibility.
    • Establish and execute an annual budget and funding plan by growing the Home Team, major donors, and events.
  • International Advancement
    • Work with the Director to serve the aligned International Region by praying, giving, and going.
Additional Responsibilities

The Area Representative will also be responsible for ensuring the implementation of FCA sports processes, systems, and resources, including:

  • League Management System (Sports Connect)
  • Coach and Volunteer Onboarding (Player's Health)
  • Finances
  • Branding and Marketing
  • Uniforms/Equipment
  • Games/Tournaments (entering and hosting)

The Area Representative will oversee League/Club Operations, including:

  • Overseeing evaluations/try-outs, practices, and games to ensure sport and ministry excellence.
  • Engaging in conflict resolution when necessary.
  • Communicating pertinent information to parents and volunteers.
  • Recruiting and training coaches.

The Area Representative will also establish League/Club Logistics, including:

  • Working with facility contacts on all usage protocols.
  • Developing key dates, budget, and registration costs and registering the league/club in FCAOne.
  • Ordering all uniforms and coach/player items from FCA Gear Specialist.
  • Running the league/club management software (Sports Connect).
  • Promoting the league/club to athletes and parents for participation.

The Area Representative will secure facilities by coordinating contracts, leases, and new facility vision with the Support Center and appropriate FCA Supervisors. They will also ensure that staff stay current with all applicable governing boards per their specific sport.

The Area Representative will execute the comprehensive FCA Sports E3 Strategy for coaches, athletes, and parents in the League/Club. They will foster an environment and culture that serves others as Jesus modeled and engage local churches and develop relationships with key staff members.
